Transitions: What Else We Did This Weekend

A couple of days ago I mentioned that my wife and I played hooky this past weekend on Friday, but then on Saturday we did some more things, one of which I would never have expected to do if you’d asked me about it a couple of years ago.

We were staying in a nice hotel and slept like logs. It was pretty awesome, really, and we needed it. It happened to be near a very large mall, and in that mall there happened to be a tattoo and piercing studio. We’d checked it out online, and, well…

For years, and years, and years, I had joked about “keeping myself factory spec” – no tattoos, no piercings, just what my body was excepting for marks from age, illness or surgery.

But then we went over there and I got my ears pierced, with my wife watching (and hopefully helping the piercing artist pick me up if needed). One hole in each lobe, but still, for me, that’s a very new thing.

After that, we wandered into a Sally Beauty Supply in the mall, in which I got myself a bottle of deep red nail polish, which I have to do up on my nails soon, so I can really see how it looks.

After that, a trip to Torrid (because that’s the Big Girl Place To Shop For Clothes), and I had the luck to find three blouses on the Clearance rack. One of them is in the colors of the trans flag, so I had to get that one. Had to.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, having dinner, and relaxing some more.  Which we really did need.
